The main entrance to the station
This picture of the main entrance is not from the same year as the arial picture. For many years the entrance was just 'cut' into snow drifts. The bowl shape required much less maintenance.
The inside of the Dome and arches would accumulate frost on the walls. Like the frost in a freezer.
The fish eye lens distorts the size of the entry way.
